    Description

Here we have the tools needed to hold a 8 3/4" Mopar and Dana 60 rearend housing in alignment when you are narrowing, assembling or changing the width.
    Included are.....
One pair of housing end bushings or rings that have the common 2.875" Mopar housing end diameter on one side and the 3.15" Big Ford/Early Olds/Pontiac housing end diameter on the other. This gives you the choice of using either the stock Mopar ends or the Ford ends.
One pair of lock rings to hold the above bushings in place on the shaft.
One pair of bushings or rings that would fit in the 8 3/4" Mopar differential case that measures 3.265". These bushings fit where the differential bearings would normally be. The bearings and races used are either Timken 25590 & 25520 or LM104949 & LM104912 depending on your case.
And one pair of bushings or rings that would fit in the Dana 60 differential case that measures 3.812". These bushings fit where the differential bearings would normally be. The bearings and races used are normally Timken 387A & 382S.
All three are designed to be used with a 1 1/4" o.d. alignment shaft and the bushings are machined from 6061 aluminum right here in good old Missouri.
6061 aluminum is the material of choice for Dart aluminum engine blocks, Aeroquip AN fittings, aluminum racing flywheels, OHC camshaft sprockets, etc. These are just bushings and will see no wear or abuse and should last a lifetime.
    The 1 1/4" shaft
    IS NOT
    included in this listing.
Due to the high shipping cost of a solid steel bar five feet long , we suggest you source the alignment bar locally or online. Most people use a 1 1/4" o.d. 1018 solid steel cold rolled shaft 60" – 72” in length. The common bar diameter of 1018 cold rolled steel is 1.248” and works well. The industry standard for 1018 round bar is .002” smaller than the stated diameter. Chrome Moly, Stainless Steel and tubing may be larger than the 1.248" required. SpeedyMetals, OnlineMetals and DiscountSteel are a good source for the bar although you should be able to source it from a local welding or steel shop. Obviously the shaft needs to be straight, not rusty and the proper length for your project.
Lightly lubricate the bar with oil.
We also have kits for 7.5" GM, 10 bolt GM, 12 bolt GM,
    57-64 Olds, 59-64 Pontiac,
    8.25" Mopar, 8.375" Mopar, 8 3/4" Mopar, Dana 35, Dana 44, Dana 60, 6.75" Ford, 7.5" Ford, 8.8" Ford, 8" Ford and 9" Ford. Check our other listings.
